The neighborhood is located south of Cumhuriyet Square in the city center, northeast of the historical and touristic Tuz Bazaar Hamam in the urban protected area, and southwest of the post-office building.

The subject of the Merzifon Municipality Business and Life Center Architectural Project Competition is the design of a mixed-use business and life center that facilitates commerce and lifelong education within the urban plan's building block.

The purpose of the competition is the procurement of a modern business and living center that will contribute to the revitalization of the city's downtown. Competition; highlighting original and qualified design approaches and functional and innovative solutions that can shed light on contemporary architecture; aiming to identify projects and designers that promote the use of public open space, contemporary, economic, and socially sustainable solutions in architecture and all engineering fields; a contemporary environmental and architectural understanding that will enhance the quality of urban life by being influenced by the environment.

The competition location is surrounded by commercial and residential areas. At present, it is believed that the office building in the area does not satisfy the evolving and changing requirements of the district. It is anticipated that the to-be-designed "Business and Life Center" will be a facility that can be utilized by various age groups, that accommodates commercial and social activities, and that enriches its surroundings.
